Auditions: Wednesday, April 20, 2011

This page contains auditions posted on Wednesday, April 20, 2011.

We have spent some time focusing on finding auditions, audition preparation, and booking the right type of work. No matter how talented and gorgeous you may be, it always comes down to who you know, or rather, who knows you.

With Portland being such a small city compared to the LA and NYC markets, I am very surprised and impressed by how many networking events there are every month and even every week. Were you aware of these networking events and opportunities to mingle with Portland's film community?

With six made-in-Portland films premiering over the next six weeks, along with the monthly Portland Independent Film Meet-up
(or find it here on Facebook), the weekly get together on Wednesday nights for Megann's Night, and OMPA events, this is enough to keep any local actor busy with networking.

How important is it to make an appearance at these events, and how much does it make a difference in your career? Do you attend any or all of these events? How has it affected the work you are getting, and how have you grown from attending these events?

The big question of the week is - how does networking play a role in your acting career?

Let's start up this week's chat and discuss your thoughts about networking, attending events, and how this has made a difference in your acting career!

If you are a fan of the blog, please share this with actor friends. If you have any feedback for me on how to improve my blog, share this with me so that I may work on improving the blog.

Thanks.

Actress / model needed for short CGI / live action film $75 day (Portland)

Local production company is looking to hire a young actress / model for a non-speaking role in a CGI / live action short film.

Auditions are to be held this coming Saturday - April 23rd, downtown Portland, from Noon to 2 or 3 pm.

The story is entitled, "Both Bitter and Sweet Was Persephone Inside Most Incomplete." It's a tale about a young girl made of chocolate who yearns to escape the candy store where she is imprisoned.

The shoot will take place over a weekend, near the end of May, and will be comprised of 2 days of work. We will be paying $75/ day for the shoot days ($150), although we may need additional, non-paying time, for make-up tests and test-shoots.

There will be no dialogue, as the short film shall be narrated.

We are looking for a young girl with an innocent, pretty, and unique face... tall, lean, and graceful, between the ages of 18-25. Hair color is of no consequence. Our target audience is young adults / teenagers... so please don't apply if you do not represent or look the age. Any ethnicity can apply for this role. Modeling / acting experience is a plus.

Please note: There will be full make-up... as we must change the actress / model's skin into a chocolate texture... but only the face, arms, neck and legs. Our SFX artist will be using a synthetic make-up which is non-abrasive, does not dry the skin and does not cause any allergic reactions. We will also be filming on stage, full greenscreen backdrop.

Please respond to email with resume and photos.
