Our ideal candidate would be in their 20's, an athlete or sports fan or have some acting background (although none is required). You don't have to look like Erin Andrews but it doesn't hurt if you do.

SUMMER SHAKESPEARE AUDITIONS!

Post5 Theatre will be hosting the first ever unified-general Portland Shakespeare Auditions!

What does this mean? I'm glad you asked.

In an unprecedented collaboration, Post5 Theatre, Willamette Shakespeare, Portland Actors Ensemble, Northwest Classical Theatre Company, and The Original Practice Shakespeare Festival will be holding unified general auditions on the 15th and 16th of January!

Some of the companies will be auditioning for their summer productions, while others will be attending to see local talent (that's you) for future productions. So regardless of whether it's The Bard's comedies (like Much Ado About Nothing) that tickle you, his histories (Henry IV, Part 1) that get you going, or his tragedies (Hamlet: Prince of Denmark) that bring a tear to your acting eye, there will be plenty of opportunity to show off your talent (oh, we know you've got talent).

Sunday, January 15th 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Monday, January 16th 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Please prepare 1 or 2 classical monologues. At least one piece should be from Shakespeare and at least one piece should be in blank or rhyming verse. The piece(s) should total no more than 3 minutes. You MUST be registered to attend the auditions.

How do you get involved, you ask?

Reply to: www.pdxshakespeare.com is the place to sign up for an audition slot. That's also where you'll find what to prepare, what to bring and where to go.

AUDITIONS for NW Film Center Thesis Project! (Portland)

HEART is an experimental-narrative about the Kierkowzki brothers' struggle with adult coping and learning how to let themselves live.

Project will be under 20 minutes, shot on color 16MM film!

Lead Role
JONAS KIERKOWZKI: 27 - 35 year old male, average build. Jonas relies on minimalism in every facet of his life. His minimalism serves as a means to quell the guilt and terror he inflicts on himself as a result of witnessing his brother's childhood death.

Lead Role
KEVIN KIERKOWZKI: 27 - 35 year old male, average build, wild eyes. World-renowned astrophysicist, Kevin balances his time between new discoveries within the multiverse and making the existential choice to die.

Supporting Role
BENJAMIN WALTERS: 25 - 30 year old male, average build, bookish. A grant writer for the conservation of wild spaces. Having dated Kevin for some time, it became clear that Jonas would benefit from inclusion in the romantic relationship. While not conventional, their relationship with Ben provides the most stability in the lives of the brothers.

This is a "no-budget" film production, so NO monetary compensation can be offered. Actors will be well fed, get the experience of a small, organized shoot and have the opportunity to use the film on their reel.

Production will occur in Spring 2012. No acting experience required; prepare for extensive, sometimes unconventional rehearsing.

Please be prepared to bring a resume with photo, and monologue to perform. Auditions will be
videotaped. They will be held at:

CASTING Table Read for TV Pilot Pitch (to be taped)

Holiday Greetings Everyone :)

I am ramping up to do a staged reading (probably in January)
that will be recorded in audio and probably video
to use as part of my Pitch Package in LA for this show.

TILL THERE WAS YOU, is an 1hr Dramady:
already was a semi-finalist in SCRIPTAPALOOZA.
(Think NOISES OFF meets Larry Sanders...)

It has been well-liked by the producers I have already sent it to I am looking to make an alliance with. The studios are hungry

for content and timing is right now.

Current Intention:
Put it on audio and video as a pitch tool, because it is such a deep ensemble piece
and better heard/seen than just read I am finding!

Future Intention:
Sell it to be shot in the NWest.
( have a lot of industry contacts from my days on Northern Exposure, if they
could do it, so can we!)

Rehearsal -
1 Readthru - before we shoot. Probably on a weekend here in Lake Oswego.

Then, Table Read will probably be towards the end of January on a weekend.

Pay:
I wish there could be pay for this.
HOWEVER! Actors chosen will be given a gift 1 Hour of my coaching time
($225 value) That ain't bad, now is it? ;) Still gives you value for your
valuable time and energy which I believe as actors we should all get. It can
be on crafting career goals, success, confidence in auditions, or mono/scene work.

Certainly will be great to have seen a stable of actors I like for the future potential.
(some of the key roles are already promised to actors I have worked
with in the past, some are still open) Everyone I like, I guarantee
I will remember.

Send:
Pics and Resume to:
JEM Enterprises P.O. Box 810, Lake Oswego, OR 97034
(yeaaaa, it's the old fashioned way, but better for casting for me!)

The Auditions will be reading from the script, no monologues.
(I just don't believe we do as well without another actor to re-act with!)

CAST Breakdown: (this is very much an Ensemble Cast)

MEN
AL, The Stage Manager: Late 40's something, harried, time never on his side, quick-witted

JOE: 40's something intimidating African American Actor, big build also good if you have it

DON DANDY: Late 40's early 50's, the Crab King (Southern Accent) charming, innocent, starstruck

JIMMY: The Intern, 20's or to look 20's, all enthusiasm and perk

HENRY: 50's, The Studio SUIT (smaller roll in pilot) will also read
THE ANNOUNCER: Think radio days and maaa mey mee mo mooo...

HUGH HARRINGTON: 40's, movie-star good looks, what America doesn't know- he is gay (tho not swish

ROBERT KENDALL: 40's Lawyer, kind, naive, soft-spoken, TALL

WOMEN:
SCRIPT GIRL: Early 30's, Thin, nervous, Jewish, quirky

SOPHIE MAZZARINO: 40's sommmewhere, busty, boozy, bossy, ex-lounge singer

VIVIAN: Late 30s, British bombshell, leggy, ascending the ladder of stardom the leggy way

Narrator: (Man or Woman, Voiceover work preferred)
This will be the person reading the Stage Directions, this is a CRUCIAL part of the
reading and one of the most valuable things you can do for this project. The pace is fast and
furious, how it is read SO important.

Lead Actor for Feature Project (Corvallis)

We're casting the lead role in an indie feature film. We'll be shooting the opening sequence this February to help raise financing, with plans to complete the project during the next two years, mostly in Oregon with some location work. We've got an award-winning script and an experienced team, and are looking for an actor with the enthusiasm and energy to hang in for the long haul on a micro-budget feature project.

The film is a dark comedy/drama called VINTAGE, and you can read about the project at http://threecrowsproductions.com

Role:
Bruno Tannenbaum - 40s-50s, washed-up, frumpy restaurant critic and former bestselling author - a literary lounge lizard who's past his prime but can still turn on the charm when he needs to.

Interested actors should be prepared to submit a brief bio and headshot.

Casting for cable access series (Portland)

I am casting 4 actors for a cable access series that I plan on shooting in the Portland area at the beginning of the new year.

The series is a sitcom type show that also focusses on drama and some action. It's kind of like a mix between Friends meets Seinfeld meets Curb Your Enthusiasm meets Alley McBeal. I am casting 4 main roles. 2 women and 2 men in the 25-35 age range. The show is for cable access and it's mainly for fun so there's no pay at this time but it's a great opportunity to get together with others and make a tv show. I am meeting actors in the next few weeks and hope to start shooting after the new year. Please get ahold of me with a headshot if you're interested in being a part of the show and we can arrange a time to meet and go over more details.
