look-alike actor needed

Hi -
We are shooting some shots for a documentary in Sisters, Oregon this Thursday (9/29/11) and we need a guy roughly 30 years of age who can ride a horse and who has VERY dark hair and dark skin (Indian, Pakistani, Hispanic, Hawaiian, etc.).
We are looking for someone who looks very similar to the client who has commissioned this video. We will NOT be showing the face so the most important characteristics are the hair and skin color. There are no speaking parts. Just riding a horse, driving a car, walking thru a barn/stable, etc. Here are a few pictures of the client:
http://www.screencast.com/t/8zyKQ3WAP76
http://www.screencast.com/t/dQkpe905gQq
http://www.screencast.com/t/wj1kZZ9PDsX
We would REALLY like someone who can ride a horse as several of the shots will be on a horse at a ranch outside Sisters. If you look just like this guy but can't ride a horse, please contact me anyway as we have some other shots where we might be able to use you.
We can provide transportation to and from central Oregon Thursday and the pay will be $300 for the day.
Please send me a couple of pictures (headshot, etc) to bill@berrymediaworks.com.
I look forward to hearing from you -

Audition notice: Tears of Joy Theatre's "Pinocchio"

Tears of Joy Theatre will be holding Auditions to fill the roles of Doctor Fox and Professor Cat for its upcoming production of Pinocchio by Jon Ludwig.

Seeking one man and one woman (see notes below)
Both positions are paid.
Rehearsals will begin October 3rd, days. Performances are November 9th - 20th, primarily daytime (only one evening performance: Nov. 11 @ 7:30).

Audition times: Tuesday, Sept 27th from 2 pm - 9pm, or by appointment at Tears of Joy's studio, 323 NE Wygant St. #201

Audition requirements: Bring headshot, resume, and calendar for conflict information. Prepare one comedic monologue and a song.
Both performers perform as actors, and those actors portray many other puppet and mask characters in the play. Some heavy lifting required. Sides will be provided after your audition is scheduled.

About the show:

CONCEPT:

This is an adaptation of “Pinocchio” by Carlo Collodi. The basic idea is that Doctor Fox and Professor Cat are performing a cautionary tale for boys and girls with masks, puppets and music. In their employ or indentured is Pinocchio. Through Fox and Cat’s cunning, trickery and threats, Pinocchio is made to do all the heavy lifting and lowly tasks needed to put on the show. Fox and Cat use scenes from Pinocchio’s life to illuminate their heavy handed moralistic folderol.

PUPPETS:

The puppets are full figured Sicilian Rod Marionettes, rod puppets, shadow puppets and masks. The three characters perform the puppets sometimes in full view or sometimes not.

ACTING STYLE:

The Fox and Cat are very dramatic, theatrical and comically bad actors. The Fox is more of a ham than the Cat. The Cat is more demure and feline but shifty. She often repeats the Fox for rhythm and emphasis.

The event will be held at the Gerding Theater at the Armory in downtown Portland, and will host over 600 community leaders, volunteers, and innovators. It's a red carpet celebration of democracy, innovation and the next generation of great Oregonians. (Learn more at http://thewheelies.org)

It's an incredibly fun program that runs much like the Oscars or Grammys. So, like the Oscars or Grammys, we need a talented voice actor to play the part of announcer for the evening. We're looking for one of those classic male or female announcer voices. Your part will be completely scripted, and you'd be reading from the script from the back of the house.

The event is on Monday, October 10th
There is a required dress rehearsal on Saturday, October 8th

*Event Details*
Call is at 4:30
VIP reception begins at 5:30
Show begins at 7:00

*About the Bus Project*
The Bus Project is a grassroots democracy nonprofit that gets new and young people engaged in our political process. Learn more at http://busproject.org

casting male and female young 20's for commercial (vancouver)

Hello all. I am currently seeking a female and male actor for a 1 day small lifestyle clothing commercial shoot. Experience isn't a must. This is more like a model shoot rather than acting. Which brings me to... I need the actors to be petite and beautiful. I am not going for the "hot" look, I am looking for someone on the more cute/beautiful side of things... If that makes sense. Some pay... Not as much as you should be making though! Just being honest.

Also please do not send me an email if you don't have a headshot.

Thanks so much.

Actress 30 to 50 for domestic violence short (Tigard)

Experienced director needs experienced actress who can portray age 20 or 25 to age 45 or 50. This unique film is upbeat yet accurately describes domestic violence. The last line is, "I don't regret my marriage to the young man who wanted so desperately to be different than his father because it produced a young man who is living that dream."

Must be willing to donate your time to act in AND promote this film. A dv survivor wrote the script and wants anonymity. You will need to present this film to dv organizations and other venues. This is a ch
ance to make the world less violent AND to promote your career as an actor without appearing to self-promote.

Knowledge of domestic violence and strong public speaking skills preferred. Actor will not be asked to provide financing for film.

We will submit this film to major film festivals.

Need Actors for Table Reading Sept. 24 (Vancouver)

I've finished the first draft of my horror script (monster in the house type of script, except with vampires) and I would like to do a table reading in order to see what needs to be fixed. I'm looking for actors or people who are very good at doing cold readings or people who are good at reading stuff out loud.

I plan to do an entire read through and then do some comment/critique so I can get all of your opinions on what feels real, what doesn't, what needs work, etc. I can't pay you, but I will offer yummy snacks and beverages to whet your whistle.

The reading and commentary will take place Saturday, Sept. 24 from 2-8pm. I live in Portland, but reading will take place in Vancouver.

Character parts:

MIKE: Cop, husband to Kim and father of Stacy. (have someone to read for this already)

KIM: Frazzled mom of Stacy--Mike and Kim are married.

EVAN: Cop. Mike's partner. (may have someone to read for this)

STACY: Mike and Kim's bratty 15 y.o. daughter

RUBY: Stacy's super-smart geeky 10 y.o. little cousin

EMILY: Stacy's psuedo-goth friend, also 15

JENNY: Stacy's "good girl" friend, also 15

VAMPIRE: Dude who turns Kim into a fanged menace.

MYSTERY MENTOR: (haven't figured out a name for him yet) vampire hunter guy who helps in the battle with the vamps.

NARRATOR: Someone to read the action/settings. I will likely read this, if we don't have enough folks.

For the teens, I would like at least a couple of actual real live (as opposed to undead) teenagers (or as close to being teen as possible) to read the parts to make sure my dialogue and situations are as natural as possible. Being an old fogey myself, I might not have their characterizations right.

The rest of the people reading can be adults. As I mentioned before, readers don't have to be actual actors, but I do want people who can read out loud well--those of you who are good at reading books to kids would probably do just fine.

Please email me your resume (if you have one) or some links where I can see you in action. If you've never done this before, no worries. Just email me your contact info and I'll call you. Again, this is a non-paying gig. You'll get fed and you'll get my undying gratitude. (he he he he!)

Thanks!
