CASTING CALL!

triangle productions! is in search of two men in their late teens early twenties to join the cast of MY FIRST TIME.

Rehearsals begin February 5th and the show opens for a three week run on March 10th (running through March 27th).

The actors sought must be very versatile, showing a wide range of characters for this funny – though provoking show written by Ken Davenport the “whiz kid” of off-Broadway who has also brought Awesome 80’s Prom, Altar Boyz and general manager of Avenue Q.

The show – gleaned from over 40,000 on line submissions, Ken has brought together people’s ‘emotional statements’ of their first time having sex…all done with four cast members and members of the audience – in about 90 minutes!

There is no nudity involved in this show, but a lot of fun.

If accepted to audition, you will be brought in and work with the two actresses who are already cast. As always at triangle you are paid for your performances.

Let’s see the up and coming talent that Portland has – and let it shine!

Audition notice

Auditions! Kind of short notice, but I'm working with a lot of different things going on.

This Friday (with possible overage time on Sunday, if needed).
Starting at 2 pm, running until 6 pm.
At the building of Pearl Self Storage, suite 1004 on NW 16th, between Overton and Pettygrove. Mimi from Tribute Theatre has graciously offered her space for auditions (Thank you!!) This is facing the street.

Bring a monologue or some sort of piece you can present. I'll do my best to sit and just be there. I'd prefer making appointment times, so if you can, I'm thinking 15 minute intervals. Email me off list with a time between 2 and 6 that day, and I'll get back to you if it works or not.

This is a non paying, short film. I'm still getting the hang of things but doing much better than a year ago with my first ever film (yeah, don't ask, it was abysmal. I want to redo it someday). We'll be shooting in one day. I will make sure folks are fed, but other than that, there is no compensation.

These are the characters I have going, and need to cast. No one has a huge amount of lines, but I do want to have some sort of rehearsal/read through before filming. Speaking of which, filming will take place in February.

Speaking roles:
-NASA Captain - male, 40's, military type, macho but not machismo
-Smitty - VP of USA, think Joe Biden... a little goofy, but still commands presence
-Reporter - pref. female, 30's, think young Barbara Walters, gets the interviews
-Fans 1, 2, 3 - younger, teen/20's, science fiction fan/geek, highly excitable. One is Goth/Steampunk
-Militia Man - anti-government/establishment, gun loving, 30's to 40's, can play paranoid/psychotic
-And most importantly: Someone who can do an a**-kicking impression of William Shatner... and looks close enough, or can transform himself enough to look like him...

Non-speaking
-Two Secret Service/psych ward orderlies (bonus points if you have proper suits and white scrubs)
-Several reporters who can shout random questions as in a high energy press conference
-Same folks who are reporters can also be other fandom types in the background of those two scenes, as well as another no-words scene of folks watching the stars. If you can make/bring your own tinfoil hats and props, bonus points.
***
With the exception of the Militia Man (and Shatner-clone), I'm open to any and all. The more over the top/campy you can play these, the better.

I think that's everything... I hope. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask away.
