Auditions: Wednesday, March 23, 2011

This page contains auditions posted on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

Thank you to all of the helpful advice in the chat box regarding our topic of discussion this week! Balancing film, friends, and work can be very difficult in this industry, and it's important to remember to stay grounded.

Being that this week is Spring Break for most of the schools in Oregon, there has been a decrease in film auditions this week. I am confident this won't last long, and the blog will be full of great, potential opportunities. Even today, there are quite a few on-camera opportunities.

Let's continue
this week's topic of discussion and chat about balancing life with an acting career. For those of you who are making a career out of acting, it can be challenging to find time for a social life, family, and friends who are not a part of the acting world. For those of us who pursue acting as a hobby, it can be a challenge to balance a day job with auditions, rehearsing, and filming. Anyone involved with theater knows that rehearsals may be scheduled every weekday, which minimizes time spent with family and friends outside of acting. Those late night shoots happen when convenient for the filmmakers, and can interfere with local networking events.

Whether you are involved with theater or film, how do you balance your social life and sanity with acting work? Some meditate, others give themselves a day each week devoted to family. Let's hear what your tricks are.

If you are a fan of the blog, please share this with actor friends. If you have any feedback for me on how to improve my blog, share this with me so that I may work on improving the blog.

Thanks.

BALD MALE EXTRAS NEEDED.

We are planning on shooting a scene in a local bar with the same group of women as extras, filling up a strange bar where there are mainly all women and a few bald guys. (yes weird) but funny.

Call to any actors:

I need three actors for two scenes for a proof of concept video for a commercial. There is no budget yet, so I am prepared to ignore the backlash of people who are going to bash me. No budget means I am not being paid either. This is to prove the concept so as to move forward if the company approves. If you are still with me, the shoots are this week, Thursday and Friday, and flexible to your schedules. If this concept works, I will bring back the people for the paying work. There can be an agreement to such so that people have some security. Contact me here with either a Direct Message or email me. Thanks so much! - Martin Vavra
