Thank you to those of you who already shared details about traveling for auditions and booked work. I would like to keep the discussion going to allow others the chance to chime in with their thoughts and experiences. I feel a week long discussion on a worthwhile topic is more beneficial than a daily topic that we don't get deep into discussion with.
I am curious how many people actually travel to LA or Seattle for potential gigs. I imagine if something like pilot season offered a chance to be seen in LA by top casting directors, this may be worthwhile, but otherwise, I'm just not sure how many of us would need to make that trip. How far do you travel for auditions? How often do you travel to audition?
Have you ever submitted a video audition in place of traveling, and if so, was this an option listed in the audition post, or was this an option you brought up to the casting director? Continue to share your thoughts on traveling for potential and/or confirmed work.

Needed an actress to play a hallucinating vampire victim. Actress should be in her late teens to early twenties...petite. This is a one-night shoot and there is no pay (Sorry). Great for an actress in need of reel pieces.

Casting for a feature to be shot this spring
As decided at our previous meeting, auditions for the PDX Film Collective's feature film will be held in Lincoln Hall (Portland State University campus) on Saturday, March 19th from 1:00pm to 6:00pm, and callbacks will be held in the same building on Sunday, March 20th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Actors will be expected to prepare a 45 second to 1:30 minute monologue to showcase their talent, followed by the option to perform duo sc...enes using lines from the film's script.
We will be casting 7 major roles, 25 minor roles, and 25 extras, including men age 20 to 60 and women age 20 to 75!
Currently titled American Lives, America Dreams, the PDXFC's first feature film will be an omnibus dedicated to showcasing different genres, styles, and mediums, enhancing the average experience of our average college kid protagonist to the state of a hero, which every person taking the "land of opportunity" at face value dreams of achieving.

Casting Actress of Music Video, Age 30 - 40
Casting "Farmer's Wife" character, age 30-40 for local country/folk music video. Shooting this Friday the 11th, 1-9pm. Time Travel Scientists for Feature Film
Hey All,
We currently need a group of scientists to be a part of a five hour shoot on Saturday.
We need exactly four scientists, no more, no less. There are a few with fun and easy dialogue, all four (out of seven), having been the team who created time travel with their headway and boss, all four very much shown on screen with very excellent blocking.
The four scientists can wear labcoats, all white, light gray, a form of jumpsuit, really just not too off the wall but wackadooesque is fine.
So a total of four people needed for Saturday from 9 in the morning until 2 PM, this including a break for lunch. There is no pay, as listed below.
(The time travelers are only needed from 10 AM until 2 PM, for those already chosen),
All at one location and shot in SE Portland at Lents Commons. A very beautiful set.

Seeking Male Model for Industrial Shoot
Currently seeking a male model, age 25-35, for a commercial shoot involving construction/ industrial scenarios. We would prefer individuals with actual construction/ industrial experience, but are open to anyone who can follow direction (acting skills a plus) The shoot will be approximately half a day, and take place either the week of March 14th or the 21st. The shoot will take place on an actual job site, so you must be comfortable working under loud, dirty conditions. Personal Protection Equipment will be provided, and a safety video will need to be reviewed before entering the site. You will also have to sign a model release and a site liability release.
