Auditions: Thursday, March 17, 2011

This page contains auditions posted on Thursday, March 17, 2011.

I want to continue this week's specific topic of discussion about getting an agent. I know we talked about this a while back, but it's worth bringing up again because of all of the exciting film projects currently floating around the Portland area. How important is having an agent in a smaller market like Portland? Are you currently signed, and does having an agent help you get work and exposure in Portland, or does it just serve a purpose on paper? If you don't have an agent, what steps are you taking to get signed? Share in the chat box below where you are with your career and how you feel about being represented by an agent.

If you are a fan of the blog, please share this with actor friends. If you have any feedback for me on how to improve my blog, share this with me so that I may work on improving the blog.

Thanks.

Casting for a feature film to be shot this spring!

The PDX Film Collective is currently casting for a feature film! Auditions will be held in Lincoln Hall (Portland State University campus) on Saturday, March 19th from 1:00pm to 6:00pm, and callbacks will be held in the same building on Sunday, March 20th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Actors will be expected to prepare a 45 second to 1:30 minute monologue to showcase their talent, followed by the option to perform duo scenes using lines from the film's script.

Currently titled American Lives, America Dreams, the PDXFC's first feature film will be an omnibus dedicated to showcasing different genres, styles, and mediums, enhancing the average experience of our average college kid protagonist to the state of a hero, which every person taking the "land of opportunity" at face value dreams of achieving.
