The Field is a dramatic story of the human condition portrayed through the experiences of several individuals who are routinely subjected to the effects of war and devastation. The Civil War, in this instance, is seen through personal perspectives of Confederate and Federal soldiers alike, the medical attachments that accompany them, and even a couple of children caught up in the action.
