Seeking Actor/Actress For Indie Feature (Portland)Hello, I am looking for actors and actresses who can play an intimate role. I am mostly looking for people who can flesh out the styles of such roles seen in Jean-Luc Godard and François Truffaut films. I have a film that requires intense emotion and displays a relationship in jeopardy. This is a VERY small and low budget film however, each role pays $200 for two weeks of filming as the initial budget went to equipment to ensure the "Professional Cinematic" look. I have people on the "Inside" so this film will definitely be seen by important eyes. I hope enter film festivals and if all fails, I will take the distributor approach and release it through Itunes, Amazon, VOD, etc. Which a nice royalty check will be given for your performance. Therefore, you can't fail taking this role. Now onto:

West - 22, Slim/Athletic, Cool style, around 5'10 - 6'2, He is cool, calm and sophisticated. Something from a GQ magazine.
Natalie - 21, Slim, Hipster styled, 5'1 - 5'10, She is Crazy, Fun, a free-spirit but fears the unknown, she's ballsy, Kate Winslet type.

The bottom line is I want to make something real, raw and stylistic that best represents my generation at this present moment. If pay is not a major deal but true acting and being involved in what could be a break-out film is, then please send a headshot and your resume and (if possible) a sample of your work for consideration. A casting call may happen which EVERY applicant will be notified via E-mail. I plan to shoot Mid-November, rehearsing the script later this month.

Please keep in mind my hopes to find the two people with Flexible schedules during November, High-school grads and drama students on break are ideal but everyone is welcomed. For the fairness of everyone it will take time to review resumes/works/etc. I will be in contact with either the chosen leads or have a date for a casting call by the 12th of October. Thank You for reading.

CASTING CALL - TERM FILM PRODUCTION

Hello all, I am a student at Clackamas Community College prepped to begin production on my portfolio project for my digital media degree, in which I have the whole term to produce a short film using all the skills I have obtained thus far. I am hoping to begin production as soon as possible on the piece, which I've tentatively titled "The Way We Are". The film follows a woman named Emma, who has been the victim of assault in the past and while out on a drive she becomes stranded and the man who comes to her rescue is the man who assaulted her years before. The film will be a realistic, gritty piece that deals with the issue of fear and the grip it has on people, especially in this piece where Emma must face her greatest fear. We thus see up close the many obvious and also subtle ways in which fear grips and controls her. The film is based both on personal research and personal conversations I've had with friends who have been attacked or assaulted in the past, which only adds a stronger element to the piece.

I am casting for the lead role of Emma and the role of the male who attacked her years before, Bryan, who has spent the years since his attack on her trying to change his ways, but he too is traumatized by what happened that day. Having been involved in film for years and with this being the representation of my whole education, this is a very serious project and I am only interested in working with those who are serious, enthusiastic and dedicated. I recently had to cancel shooting a piece because the cast and crew proved to be unreliable, so my tolerance level for that kind of work ethic is completely gone. If you are a dedicated performer, someone enthused by film and the storyline we will work together perfectly and the final production will turn out fantastic! While the film is being written and shot by me, it's the performance of the actors in the piece that matter most. I have sides from the piece prepared to let those interested take a look at. One final note, both characters will need to have a driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Below are brief descriptions of the two main characters in the piece:

EMMA -- mid-20s. A very lost and aloof soul who can't seem to pull herself out of a mediocre life. She is a very frustrated and yet frightened person, primarily the result of experiences in her past. She works a cheap job that she got through a friend. She is a decent person, but she has been crippled by fear, which has always held her back. This makes her a very realistic, unique and dynamic character.

BRYAN -- mid-20s. Attacked Emma years before after a drunken high school party. He has been plagued by guilt from that night, doing what he can to be a better person and forget about that one night. The story is then elevated when he encounters that one person he attacked and forced to face what he's been running from. His present day character is quite perky and outgoing.
