What we are looking for:

We are looking for performers who have a deep understanding and ability to convey nuanced subtext.  You should be comfortable with movement and willing to sing.  The style of singing for these characters is honest, real, grounded and somewhat raw.

Synopsis of the play:

"It is the year 2043—a time when any organ of the human body can be mass produced, holographic televisions are the norm and Sam and Jessie have spent a lifetime together, freely and openly as two men in love. With forty years of colorful, intimate experience together, Sam is suddenly confronted by the passing of Jesse. With advancements in medical technology, Jesse’s life could surely have been prolonged—why then would he choose to face death? Suffocated by grief, Sam is swept away into the memories of their shared experience, including the retelling of a Buddhist fable in Costa Rica, a discussion of their careers as artists over buttermilk pancakes and waking up together with sex on the mind. Between barely-existing and living, Sam enters a world where thoughts become tangible, memories are relived through song and the essence of marriage is discovered in dance."

What to bring to auditions:

1.Please prepare a one minute (or less) monologue from a contemporary play
2.A one minute or less movement piece without dialogue (anything goes but be specific about what you are trying to convey)
3.Sing us a short song a cappella (it can be anything…just sing it from your heart)
4.Bring one copy of your headshot and resume

Callbacks will be by invitation.  Performers will be notified by email whether they have been invited to callbacks or not.  At Callbacks performers will read from the script.  Some may be asked to move and/or sing from sections of the script.

casting call for fun special effects videos (Portland Area)

Heya Portland actors,

I am a local filmmaker in the Portland area. I have equipment and some ideas for some short length action videos that I want to produce and I'm looking for some people that would be interested in getting together like once or twice a week and help put together some of the scenes that I have planned out. I'm looking for actors and anyone else that would like to help behind the scenes as well. My hope is to shoot videos similar to Freddie W. at http://youtube.com/freddiew and FinalCutKing at http://youtube.com/finalcutking

I hope/plan on making an online series with short videos released every week that focus on action, comedy, suspense, that incorporates some sort of amazing special effect in every new video. I'm looking for both men and women. The videos should be a lot of fun to shoot. It's mainly just for fun now, so no pay. Just want to see if anyone wants to get together and make some fun action videos. Mostly running and shooting involved in the videos along with some wide-eyed dramatic looks and whatnot. Currently I am free to shoot anytime and I'm eager to get this project started.

If you are interested then shoot me (action pun) an email w/ a headshot and a little info about yourself and we'll go from there.

Thanks for looking!
