Extras Casting

LOVE ACT TRULY is a short film, in production locally, being directed by Zen Freese, and starring Rhyan Schwartz and Anna Lieberman. The film is intended to screen on the 2012 worldwide festival circuit. We have two of Portland's brightest young actors in the lead roles (both of whom are leaving us for LA after wrapping), an amazing crew, and a very cool script. We are looking for background talent for two scenes being shot the first week of January.

The first scene is sche duled on Monday, Jan. 2nd at a restaurant in downtown Portland. It is a fine dining dinner scene. Background talent would be needed from 4:30pm until about 9pm. Background talent are asked to provide their own "dressy" wardrobe and styling. Please find metered parking on the street or in the lot across the street. Parking meters are enforced until 7pm.

The second scene on Tuesday, Jan 3rd, is a red carpet film premiere scene, at a location near the Pearl District. We need: paparazzi, adoring fans, celebrities, trophy boytoys/girlfriends for celebrities, etc. Background talent would be needed from 3:30pm until about 8pm. Background are asked to provide their own formal wardrobe and styling. Street parking is readily available and free in the area of the location.

Military Family needed for Photo Shoot (Portland, OR)

Professional free-lance photographer seeking models for start up magazine dedicated to military families. Photos will be used for magazine cover. Need military Dad, civilian Mom and daughter age 5-7. Film / event production Intern: (Mt. Tabor Area)

Boutique experiential marketing agency is searching for an intern to help with the production of a feature length documentary film on behalf of one of our clients. Production of the project will run from now Through April, 2013 but intern would not need to commit for more than 3 months of work at this point, hours TBD / flexible, 16 to 25 hours a week. This currently is an unpaid internship but the right candidate will have the opportunity to go on the road with our crew during the spring / summer as a Production Assistant, which would be a paid position. This position will be based out of a home office in SE Portland.

The Intern will fill a key support roll for our team as we ramp up production and begin making a film about the rise of an iconic brand in American popular culture.

The Intern will gain valuable insight into the filmmaking and experiential marketing world, as well as gain an understanding of the workings of a small agency. We will make every effort to include this person in the interesting and challenging aspects of the project.

Duties include: 

+ Maintaining files and binders of release forms, authorization documents, receipts, license agreements, and other documentation
+ Running errands as needed
+ Booking travel as needed
+ Working closely with Executive Producer to make sure all loose ends are tied up on project and contingency plans are in place for shoots
+ Some maintaining of equipment and shipping
+ Extensive research and some scheduling of shoots
+ More research

MUST be willing to multitask and handle various personalities and eccentricities of our team. They will need to be motivated and dedicated for this position but will be an integral part of a really fun and visible production.

They will be representing our agency as well as our partner agency and client -- they must be prompt, polite, responsive, able to multi task, and handle all manor of tasks. They will be working very closely and in close quarters with a team of people with varying personalities and demands. They MUST be willing to deal with eccentric people from all walks of life and MUST always exhibit an enthusiastic attitude that is consistent with our client's brand. 



Attributes of our ideal candidate:

+ Positive and enthusiastic about project, - interest in Japanese culture / Manga / etc. a plus.

+ Detail oriented 

+ A people person who is not shy when approaching strangers
+ Height under 5'2" is a huge plus for someone seeking a progression to the PA position (there is a good (non-creepy!) reason for this!!)
+ Ability to travel a plus
+ Experience with Microsoft Office and google docs
+ Willingness to work out of our home office
+ Ideal candidate will be always accessable via cell phone or email and have a flexible schedule

LEARNING ON THE JOB: This position is an opportunity to work with three professional event coordinators with 30 years of combined experience producing stellar events. You will have ample opportunities to learn on the job.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The position may include these vital tasks:
• Producing the on-screen program
• Marketing assistance, social media maintenance assistance
• Interviews with filmmakers
• Volunteer recruitment and management
• Press kits (including creating a DVD of stills and sample videos)
• Raffle prize pick up
• Overseeing preparation of the festival video program (of the actual movies)
• Filmmaker follow up -- to secure mini-DV format to meet our deadline
• Creating or securing stills for accepted movies
• Neighborhood relations and permitting
• Set up, break down and general assistance on opening night
• On-screen ad sales
• Other projects as they arise

REQUIRED SKILLS
An enthusiasm for bikes, film or events

Ability to work independently with your own work space

Ability to comit to working April 13th at the opening night

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
We will meet every other week -- day of week and time TBA. You are expected to attend all of these meetings. We will set the meetings to meet the schedules of Filmed by Bike staff.

At the beginning of the internship you will be given an outline of upcoming projects and deadlines.

Work will start on or around January 15. The internship is complete when your post-festival projects are wrapped up, which should be around April 30.

As the festival approaches, many last-minute and unpredictable needs arise. The interns are in place to assist with these needs, and your assistance will be a great asset to the festival. We are depending on your flexibility and willingness to help, especially at this time in the festival, which will be quite pressing + stressful.
