Voice Actor (Forest Grove OR)

Student project looking for a female ages 25-40 for narration gig for a 20 minute film. This is an unpaid position but will pay for commute to and from Forest Grove.

The film is a drama following four college students as they learn about loss and moving forward. The gig is the voice of the main character reflecting on the experiences that she's gone through.
She's sarcastic, witty, but very down-to-Earth and wise for her age.

Please include in your e-mail a voice recording (prefer mp3) of the following text:

"My name is Emma Elise Schwartz. That's me roughly ten years
ago. This was my thinking place; Elisha and I (you'll meet Eli later) used to come
here regularly. He and I were in what the people in the movie business called love; I called
it surreal. You probably have no interset in this place I'm sure, but this little nook holds
more memories and brings back more emotions than any other place I've ever been. I'll never
forget this day. But like I said, this moment is only a little important to my story."

For any questions or concerns please feel free to e-mail me.

Theater scene needs extras -Thursday from 1:30pm to 5:00pm (The Valley Theater)

I Play With The Phrase Each Other (IPWTPEO) is a local indie/student feature film looking for some extras for this upcoming Thursday. We'd like to cast 15 people to fill a few seats inside Valley Theater in Beaverton. The look is for upper-middle class, 30-50 year olds who are dressed conservatively (PTA conference attendees as opposed to the fashion forward/hip Portland look).

Description of the film:
The film chronicles over sixty characters in a vast matrix of incessant correspondence. The story this correspondence forms begins with Jake, a young neurotic who is persuaded to leave his small hometown and move to the city to live with his friend Sean, a fanatical poet who survives by swindling inexperienced Craigslist customers. When Jake arrives in the city Sean has disappeared, and as he struggles to secure a job and a place to stay, Jake discovers a nocturnal world of neon poverty in which his friend is thriving.

Please send a headshot or photo, and put "Theater Extra" in the subject line if you'd like to be in our movie.

Many thanks!

Costa Rehab auditions (Portland, OR)

Book of Dreams Productions will hold auditions for its spring show, COSTA REHAB by local playwright Rich Rubin, for a May 24-June 23 run. I'm calling this officially an "unpaid" gig, but if we get good audience numbers to come see it, chances are you'll get something.

Description:

Wheeler and Corso, two injured Iraq veterans, are recuperating in the rehab unit of a stateside Army hospital. Their friendship is based on a profane camaraderie and a shared, if unstated, experience of war. Both men, however, are bored and sliding towards burnout, worn down by the weight of their injuries and the impersonal face of the Army bureaucracy. The arrival of Davis, a third injured vet, serves to rejuvenate the other two soldiers, providing them with a fresh, if unconventional, mission to focus on. Their subversive quest on Davis's behalf leads to a renewed sense of hope for all three of them.

Characters:
Corso -- male, early twenties
Wheeler -- male, early twenties
Lewicki -- female, mid-thirties
Cramer -- female, mid-twenties
Davis -- male, early twenties
Cinnamon -- female, late twenties [This role has already been cast.]

Respond to this post for audition location and requirements. Thanks.

Open casting Indie Feature (Oregon)

Looking to fill various roles for a awesome supernatural bicker flick filming this summer. I need people that would be willing to travel to Bend for a week this July. Followed by a week of shooting in the Eugene and Albany area's. Here is a breakdown of the roles.

Bobbie Sue - (lead)late 20's All-American girl, brunette preferably, quiet strength, ability to dance. This is a tough role, she sheds a lot of tears and endures a tremendous amount of horror and humiliation. A lot of spirit and faith, she will never waver.

Statch (lead) 30-45 yo president of the Satans Sinners MC - Rugged handsome, calm, and collected but with the ability to turn violent in a moments notice, charismatic.

Jeremiah -(Lead) The Small town priest... is also the small town drunk. - average height, thinner guy, sleazy, greasy hair, 30-ish, cynical and a bit perverted. A lot of comedy in this role. He will only work with spot on delivery and timing.

Pedophile Pete- 30's member of the Satan's Sinners MC - bigger guy, dirty, always inappropriate, something off about him.

The Sheriff- (Lead) 50's- oozing manly bravado. A strong willed thick headed good ole boy. I could see this guy with a TX twang to go with the flask in his back pocket.

Small amount of compensation is available. Travel and food also provided. The Bend shoot would be a camping like arrangement.

West Linn Elementary Volunteer Need

My friend Val Prothero is organizing the "Read To Us" event for one of the elementary schools in the West Linn School District. It is scheduled to take place March 12-14.

Every year, the classes have a variety of people from the community come in to read to the kids, representing different fields wherein the skill of reading is critical. The community members are invited to come in and read, but also encouraged to talk with the kids about their craft.

This year, a couple of the classes are wanting to have a professional or working actor come in to read, especially since all of the kids are well aware of the movie world (and some to the stage world), but few understand the connection of reading to those worlds.

Is there a chance that any of you know of an actor who is connected to the West Linn community who might be interested in being a reader for this event? Or someone who is not connected who might be available & interested?

If so, or if you are interested in being a volunteer one of those days, then please respond directly to Val to schedule attendance at the event.

THANK YOU!!!!
Zena

Discord the film - Extras Needed (Eugene)

Hi All,
We're producing a short film called Discord. The movie is about ninety percent in the can, but we have a few scenes left and we need some featured extras with character. The following non-speaking roles will be cast. Please send pics if you'd like to be considered for a part.

Lady with Kids: A woman of any age, must have two or three children all under the age of ten. The script calls for the woman to be ethnic, but race is non-crucial for this role.

Patriotic Fella: An older, gruff dude. The type who would ride a chopper. The script calls for him to be wearing a shirt with an American flag, so if you own one, that's a plus!

Delyla: A Mexican woman between the ages of 22 and 28. No lines but will be featured prominently in the film in photos.

Bar Creeps: A group of guys willing to smoke cigarettes and act drunk outside a bar for one scene.

Bloodbank cashier: A woman or man of any age. We're not going to be picky about this part.

So those are the parts we need; don't hesitate to let us know if you're interested. Remember to send pictures. Thanks!

JANE auditions for NOVEMBER by David Mamet

JANE a theater company will be holding auditions for our next project, November, by David Mamet. November is a hilarious, farcical satire of an election campaign doomed to fail. Directed by Elizabeth Huffman.

November opens at Theater!Theatre! on June 21 though July 21.

Rehearsals will begin on May 14. There is some pay. Non Equity actors only.

Auditions will be held on Monday, Feb 27th from 6:30-10.

Indent Studios 1535 SE 9th Ave

Auditions will consist of cold reads only.

Roles available

Charles Smith: (40-60’s) The President of the United States: Lead

Never off of the stage, he is by turns a demonically shrewd, cheerfully corrupt, torture happy, inept, needy, intellectually clueless loser of a politician! A terrific role, originally played by Nathan Lane, he is capable of turning on an emotional dime faster than the speed of light. Desperate to get re-elected, he will do anything he can to make it happen despite the fact that his numbers are at the all time lowest in history.

The Turkey Guy: (age open): large supporting role

He represents, and is responsible to, the company who provides the turkey that the President pardons every Thanksgiving. The year before the turkey got sick so this year they bring two turkeys just in case and he is fanatically devoted to his feathered friends health and well being determined to make sure nothing happens to them this time.

Dwight Grackle: Native American (range: 40-60) – small but hilariously memorable supporting role- should be a big powerful guy.

Chief of his tribe: describes himself as “ the incarnation of “raven”, the trickster, messenger of DOOM”. An imposing, insanely revenge motivated warrior, he is hot tempered, out for blood, and deliciously violent.

Reply to: Actors interested in auditioning please submit your pictures and resumes to Elizabeth at ehdirectact@yahoo.com. She will email you back with a time slot.

Auditions for "Body Awareness" by Annie Baker

Hello All,

Lucky Apple Productions will be producing Annie Baker's "Body Awareness" this fall at Coho Theater with Gretchen Corbett directing. On March 4th we will be holding auditions for the following roles:

Phyllis: 40's-50's, any ethnicity. High school teacher. Mother to Jared and partner to Joyce.

Joyce: 40's-50's, any ethnicity. College professor. Partner to Phyllis.

Jared: 20's, any ethnicity. Works at McDonalds. Son to Phyllis. May or may not have aspergers.

Frank: 50's-60's, white male. Artistic photographer. Guest artist staying with Phyllis, Joyce, and Jared for a week

Story: The play is set in the fictional small town of Shirley, Vermont, where Phyllis, a college campus organizer for Body Awareness Week (whose topics range from a dance troupe of refugee Palestinian children to an eating disorder seminar) lives with her partner Joyce, a high school social studies teacher, and Joyce's 21-year-old son Jared, from a prior marriage. Jared shows several symptoms of Asperger's syndrome, but he refuses to see a therapist for treatment. Their houseguest is a middle-aged photographer named Frank Bonitatibus, whose artistic photos of nude women offend Phyllis. Frank's presence exacerbates the already existing tension between the three of them, and when Joyce agrees to pose for one of Frank's pictures, this threatens her relationship with Phyllis. Meanwhile, Jared, a self-described autodidact who works at McDonald's until he successfully tries to get fired because he hates his co-workers, asks Frank for advice on how to attract women

Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you.

Auditions: Children's Interactive Series

The FUNDA Organization is casting roles for an ongoing interactive series.

Non-Union, SAG/AFTRA considered
Pay: 100-175/shooting day
Dates: Rehearsals mid-may. Shoot late may through mid june. Ongoing weekly update videos (4 shoot days/month) from Sept-November.

Auditions: Feb 27th and Feb 29th 7pm-10pm

Please submit headshot and resume to the following email address: info(at)watchthedigits.com
with the subject line "Audition" plus the role you're interested in. Please keep file sizes small. We will contact those selected to audition via email with sides and schedule. Audition will consist of a cold read with a reader or paired actor.

Title: The Digits
Abstract: An outer space rock band saves the galaxy from an evil record label executive who is using subliminal messages to make people stupider.

Roles:

Pavi
Female age: 18+ to play 16
Race: Indian American
Singing and Guitar/Bass experience ability preferred.

Pavi is a middle kid from a small Indian American family. She likes to find ways to stand out and has always insisted on doing things her own way. She’s a whiz at math, has an adventurous spirit and a competitive nature. Which all adds up to there never being a dull moment if Pavi is around. She tends to get a good idea and charge into it without fully thinking through the consequences. Her constructive/destructive habits have gained her a good knowledge of how things work, but her rash decisions lead to trouble almost as often as they lead to exciting escapades.

The Galaxy Twinz: Chad and Becky
Age: Early to mid 20's.
Race: Any
1 Male, 1 Female
Singing/musical ability preferred. Duos considered.

The twinz are vat-grown, prefab pop stars. They are clones of clones grown from a plant-like material designed to be the perfect music sensations. They are, in brief, pretty but dumb. Their look is ever changing; always chasing the latest trends, so they're not above adding an extra eye ball or dying their skin purple if the fashion blogs say that's what's in.

Though they're twins, they're not exactly equal (or identical).

Becky: As far as Becky is concerned, the Universe owes her a living. The eldest of the two twins (by 2 minutes) she's the bossier of the two. At her core, she is shameless….Kim Kardashian shameless…OJ Simpson's book Shameless, and conniving to boot. Her values are: fame, money, the money that comes with fame and she'll stop at nothing to get it. You remember those Barbie dolls that used to say "Math is hard, let's go shopping!"? Becky's one of those.

Chad: Chad, being younger, is often in Becky's shadow. He seems to have some sort of bizarre Daddy issue with Doomfinger (his boss). He wants doomfinger to not just like him and approve of him, but maybe one day inherit the Doomfinger empire. Chad can be as conniving and intense as Becky, but is less confident. Whereas Becky feels it's a given that people will like her, Chad feels the need to be liked.

RoadieTron 3000:
Male
Puppetteering/mask work experience a plus
Age: Any (must be over 18).
Race: Any
RoadieTron 3000 is the boxy, creaky old robot that carries the gear, plays the backing tracks, and generally has to be the gopher for Doomfinger and the Twins. He's been around a long time…has seen many bands (good and bad) succeed and fail. He's got plenty of war stories from the rock and roll road, but you'll have to pry them out of him. He speaks with a resigned fury that befits a robot who wanted to retire decades ago.

Please send resume and head shots to brighton [at] authenticwestfilms.com. We will select based on resume and headshots - we don't do auditions for these short shoots.

Sorry, no compensation, but a good meal at the end, fun cast / crew, credit and a copy of the finished product.

Casting Call for The Disappearance of Benjamin (The Art Institute of Portland)

We are currently casting a short film, The Disappearance of Benjamin. There are several roles that need to be cast by local talent in their 20's.

Auditions will take place at The Art Institute of Portland from noon-4pm on February 26th.

Please reply to dissappearanceofbenjamin@gmail.com with a head-shot and resume' if you have them, and we will contact you to schedule an audition and supply you with sides. (actors of all experience levels welcome to audition)

Film Title: The Disappearance of Benjamin
-Benjamin is pushed out of his group of friends after they discover his charming doppelganger.

Open parts include -
Benjamin; early twenties plain nondescript tee shirts and simple jeans. solid colors. he doesn't care about clothes, he's not interested in how he presents himself physically. he has shaggy hair, because he doesn't get regular haircuts. he always has a book in his hand and a few in his backpack. Nervous mannerisms - he touches his face a lot when he's talking.

Celine; Early twenties, comfortable clothes, she's not out to impress anyone, but she could if she wanted to. Pretty face - minimal make up, longish hair, usually pulled back in a pony tail - she just doesn't have time anymore. Her mom watches the baby during the day, then works at night. Celine goes to school all day, then watches her baby while mom's at work. She's pretty tired and rundown a lot of the time. She values her time in the coffee shop as "drama free" down time.

Lucy; Flamboyant. Wears bright colorful clothes and peasant shirts. She buys random things at garage sales and thrift shops and just throws it all together. Floppy hats. Big ass purses with lots of stuff in it. Very sunny and out going. Interested in people and always willing to see the best in them. Wide eyed, in her late teens she's the youngest person at the table. She's an art class kind of girl - newer to college she's being exposed to new ideas and people for the first time and is loving it. She's really cute, but not as conventionally pretty as Celine.

Trevor; Early twenties. Neat dresser, might be wearing a plain black teeshirt or a nicer shirt with a collar, but it's always tucked in. Everything is very utilitarian. He wears a nice backpack which he keeps very neat and orderly, and he carries a multi tool and a pocket knife. Clean shaven with very short hair - it's easier to take care of. Very comfortable in his own skin.

Mark; Also early twenties. Very neatly dressed. button down shirt and slacks. or button down shirt and a tie, but with jeans. In other words he's dressing close to professional, but always with a little twist. clean shaven. hair the same length as Benjamin, but it's been slicked back and styled a little bit. He obviously puts a lot of thought and attention to how he presents himself. He's comfortable in his own skin and in any social situation. Superficially charming he's easy with a smile, but it might not register in his eyes.

Manos; again early twenties. My visualization of Manos is probably the hardest to cast, but ideally he is a big guy with a big beard. Lots of piercings and tattoos. A social butterfly, everybody in town knows him and loves him. Extremely gregarious, but chill to the bone. In the past he'd of been a giant barbarian who walks into a tavern with a giant war hammer, throws it on the bar, orders a giant flagon of grog and instantly starts taking to everyone like he's known them their whole lives. His tee shirts have retro nintendo games or obscure metal bands on them. He might be wearing spikes or chains, but it's not meant to be scary or off-putting. It's just the way he likes to dress.

This is a very character driven piece, and will be a great addition to your reel.

FATHER type for short film (Vancouver)

Hi we have completed 90% of the principal photography of a short film from award winning director Chris Wilson - www.wellfixitinpost.com - his most recent short has gone on to play at over 25 festivals and WON three - he WON Dragoncon and is up for 4 more awards at an upcoming LA festival. Here is a link for the trailer of that film. http://vimeo.com/15135199

We are now needing to cast the father for one line of dialog-- it's a cutaway scene so it was not needed during the bulk of our shooting. The short is called PILLOW FIGHT - two girls (over 18) get into an epic Kill Bill style pillow fight. (no nudity) these actresses trained for months from a pro stunt/fight choreographer - and did an amazing job. Our DP is Phil A. Anderson. Go to www.imdb.com to check out the very impressive Philip Allister Anderson.

This is a just for fun short inbetween two feature SAG films. But will be highly promoted and submitted to festivals.

You can find screen grabs and info on the Pillow Fight -movie Facebook page.

Age 45-55 -must look very "dad" and be able to scream and yell. Frustration over the noise they make fighting is the jist of the line. We will NOT be holding live auditions and strictly casting through demo reels and phone auditions.

2 hour shoot tops in Vancouver. Will have copy for your reel in lightning speed as the film is already nearly edited and done. Copy includes an actual data file of the film, a file of just your scene as well as the fully packaged DVD featuring the cover by Portland Pinups photographer Mike Long.

Please send headshot/resume reel links or other links to work you have done.

THANK YOU!
Hollie Olson
Exe Producer

NOTE: THERE ARE NO CHILDREN TO CAST - PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDS INFO.
