THE COLLEGE
Lane Community College, a comprehensive community college in beautiful Eugene, Oregon, offers a wide variety of instructional programs including transfer credit programs, professional technical degree and certificate programs, continuing education noncredit courses, programs in English as a Second Language and International ESL, GED programs, and customized training for local businesses. Classes are offered at several locations, and online classes and telecourses are also available. More than 36,000 students take credit or noncredit classes at Lane each year. Lane has the third largest enrollment of the 17 community colleges in Oregon. Lane serves a 4,600 square mile area from the Cascade Mountains to the Pacific Ocean (this is an area larger than the states of Delaware and Rhode Island combined).

EDUCATION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION
Master of Arts or Master of Fine Arts in theatre arts or related field with emphasis in acting or directing.

EXPERIENCE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated success in the following:

** Two years (six quarter, four semesters or combination) teaching acting courses (including beginning acting) in a college or equivalent.

OR
**One year (three quarters, two semester, or combination) teaching at least one other theatre arts course than beginning acting in a college or equivalent. (eg.: acting improvisation, voice, survey of theatre.)

OR
**Director of at least three plays in a college or equivalent.

Position Purpose:
To provide the community high-quality academic and performance leadership, instruction and entertainment in theatre arts. Direct the Theatre Arts Program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Responsible for the Theatre Arts Program
* Accept and advance position of leadership in the department, the college and the community.
* Teach diverse course offerings in theatre arts with a strong focus on acting.
* Develop, evaluate and implement innovative curriculum.
* Develop, direct and maintain Theatre Budget and fiscally sustainability of public funds.
* Act as primary student academic advisor
* Coordinate and supervise student activities, programs and organization(s).
* Select and direct plays.
* Develop and implement recruiting efforts for students from local schools and programs by maintaining supportive, collegial relationships with faculty and theatre personnel.
* Collaborate with division and other faculty and staff to produce interdisciplinary performance projects and assure collegial and efficient day to day operation of the department.
* Act/Direct both within and beyond the college; serve on college committees; work with community leaders to promote the vitality, quality and advancement of the performing arts in the community and beyond.
* collaborate and work with colleagues to design, develop and implement an instructional and performance program that is highly effective, collaborative and creative

Support student learning through activities that include:
* exhibit compliance with College policies and procedures, accountability for leave time, time sheet completion, release time, text book ordering and related functions

2007 Pulitzer Prize winner for drama, Rabbit Hole wades into the uncomfortable and familiar waters of loss and the devices we all use to protect our deepest emotions. Becca and Howie recently lost their 4-year-old son in a car accident. Now, in the aftermath of their grief, they must rebuild their tainted relationships with friends, family, and each other, or risk going deeper down the hole.

Roles available:

Becca -- female, 30-50 yrs., Danny's Mom; fastidious, sensible, responsible, cautious, the grown-up middle child
Howie -- male, 30-50 yrs., Danny's Dad; caring, depressed, sentimental, proud, and ready to move on
Izzy -- female, 20-40 yrs., Becca's sister; free-spirited, youngest sibling, life on a wing and a prayer
Nat -- female, 50-70 yrs., Becca & Izzy's Mom; wants desperately to restore her children's happiness, even through tough love
Jason -- male, 16-25 yrs., the boy who accidentally killed Danny; unsure of how to mend fences and find peace

NOTE: Auditions will be cold readings from the scripts. However, headshots, resumes, and/or monologues are welcome, but not required. (If you have a prepared monologue, you will be given the opportunity to share it as an additional basis for consideration.) All are welcome and no experience is necessary.

Actors and Actresses

I am currently producing my thesis project for school and need actors and actresses for a variety of roles.

I'm still looking for a Main Character. Male. Must be able to pass for 17 or 18 and I would need to hear your voice recorded since there is some voice over involved.

Two female characters needed. Must be able to pass for 17 or 18.

Three Older Male characters needed. Must be able to pass for around late 30's and early 50's.

I will email anyone interested a character breakdown and synopsis of the project.

It is a television show concept and the parts will be short. I'm filming for a show promo.

The dates I'm shooting are flexible but here are a couple possible dates:
March 2 and 3 and March 9 and 10.
