Casting for Short Film

Hello,

Affable Gentleman are holding and open casting call for a short film entitled "The Bunyan Affair". This is a small budget, non-union shoot scheduled for the week of August 12-18. There will probably not be any pay, unless our kickstarter ends up earning a lot more money than expected.

Auditions will be this Sunday, July 8th from 2pm - 6pm in the New Market Theater Building at 199 SW Ash, right next to the Skidmore Fountain Max stop. Please enter through the Purest Cafe, we will be on the 2nd floor.

You will perform a cold reading from sides provided. Please email me your headshot and resume beforehand.

Cast Breakdowns:

Dave - Late 20's to early 30's. Very geeky but can hide it well. Is prone to long winded speeches and is the big idea guy amongst his geeky friends. He and Paul (other main character) have been best friends for a long time.

Mel - Mid 40's to mid 50's. A self proclaimed "Paul Bunyan Historian", he takes the study of all things Bunyan WAY too seriously. Not a lot of social skills, lives alone, kind of creepy.

Lindsey - Late 20's to early 30's. Typical Portland Yippy (yuppy/hippie). Lindsey is pregnant and parks her giant SUV into a "compact only" spot when going to Starbucks or her yoga class. She has a "coexist" bumper sticker on the back of her car but does not really understand if other people have a different point of view.

History Museum Receptionist - Late 50's to early 70's. Sweet volunteer receptionist at the history museum. Loves it when young people come to learn about Portland history. Usually has a nice grandmotherly disposition but can become very dark when Mel is around.

Casting for Pulp Short Film (Washington County)

Casting for Short film "The Shadow and the Shanghai Tunnels"
I am working on a short film later this summer which revolves around the pulp hero The Shadow. I'm looking to cast a few roles so that I can move forward with pre production. Filming should take place over 3 or 4 days. Because of the way it's written no one would probably be there for more than two days of filming. Our goal is to get permission to film in the shanghai Tunnels themselves so if you're claustrophobic please be aware that this may not be for you. The roles may require some minor stunt fighting (which we already have a choreographer).
The Shadow
Between 6'4" and 6'6" The Shadow is described as tall, thin, and with a "hawklike visage" So this one may be the most challenging role to cast. When the Shadow talks it is described as a sibilant whisper (IE sort of hissing) DO NOT expect to emulate Christian Bale's Batman. The Shadow wears a suit, a Slouch hat, and a suit all of which will be provided.
Harry Vincent
Standing around 6' Harry Vincent is described as tall (though he looks up at the Shadow and considers him tall) handsome, and has dark hair. Harry is somewhat of a ladies' man but is above all loyal to the Shadow. Imagine someone not unlike James Bond.
Margo Lane
Margo is about 5'6" with hair cut to about shoulder length. Margo has light brown or dark blonde hair. Margo is considered classically beautiful with a sarcastic sense of humor.
Hawkeye
5'6"-5'8" Hawkeye is described as being small and slender with a weathered face which makes it hard to place. Hawkeye should seem to be in his late 30's-40's and be very healthy.
You can reply with your email to this post.
This is NOT Paid Gig we're all putting in our time on this.
