Actors needed for Staged Reading

Come be a part of a NEW PLAY that goes for the jugular of some real issues.

Title: ZOLUMBINE - Fear Invades Our Schools

Based on a True Story

In 2005, a high school student in Kentucky was arrested for a short story he wrote that involved Zombies invading his high school. He was charged with 2nd Degree Terrorist Threatening and put in jail. While in jail, bail was set at $1000, but the community cried out at the SERIOUSNESS of the offense and bail was raised to $5000…

All too often these days, we hear the phrases Post 9/11 and Post-Columbine thrown around, but have yet to get a firm grasp on how fear has changed our country and more specifically our schools. An attitude has arisen that prevention is key in stopping more attacks on schools. This attitude, while meaning well, has created an environment of suppression, anxiety, and absurd discipline.

Through use of satire and, of course, ZOMBIES!!! This play looks at what happened in Kentucky, separating the absurd from the useful to try and get a better grip on what is happening in today’s schools.

We need a bunch of actors (7-10) to make this play what it should be. Roles for most age ranges 17-60.

Performs Monday, November 22nd at the Community Music Center.

Minimum time commitment. 3-4 rehearsals prior to performance.
