Compass Repertory Theatre announces auditions for our spring production

John Ford's `Tis Pity She's a Whore.

`Tis Pity She's a Whore is Ford's Romeo and Juliet story. But Darker. Sexier. More Dangerous. More TOTALLY Obsessed. Unrequited love (plus some of the requited kind), sex, great poetry, sword fights, silly clowns, innocence, mistaken identity, jealous lovers, and a heart on a dagger. Who could ask for anything more?

Directed by Bruce A. Hostetler, Artistic Director of Compass Rep. (www.bruceh.net)

We've got roles for all types (age range 18-ish to whatever). Verse skills and training are a plus, but not required.

These roles will all pay a small stipend. No AEA contracts this time around (sorry y'all).

Audition Details:

Where: Shoebox Theatre (2110 SE 10th Ave)

When: OPEN CALL: Saturday, January 15, 12:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m. AND Sunday, January 16, 5:30 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. CALL BACK: Monday, January 17, 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

How: We will be scheduling auditions in five-minute intervals throughout both open calls. Send an email to compassrep@earthlink.net with your availability, and we will email you your time-slot. If you are asked to return for the Monday callback, you will need to stay for the entire 2.5 hours.

What: Two contrasting pieces, total length three minutes, one verse piece recommended but NOT required. Although there will be some onstage music, there will be no singing component to these auditions. Bring headshot and resume (only one copy is necessary).

Rehearsal and performance dates are roughly April – May for rehearsal, and May – June for performance.

Performance location is the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center (IFCC). Exact rehearsal/performance dates will be available at the audition.

See you there.
