Casting Call: Portland Tour Guides (Downtown Portland)
Do you love Portland? Can you command a crowd, make them laugh, and have everyone eating out the palm of your hand? If so, then this is the job for you!
Portland Walking Tours is looking for fun and dynamic personalities to lead tours and other events. We are hiring over a number of positions that are part-time and on-call. You must have leadership abilities, charisma, a sense of humor, great communication skills, and an obvious love of Portland. You must also have weekend and evening availability. We're an established company that's been around almost a decade and successful enough that during the regular tour season we run daily tours with over 40 events per week (not including dozens of private events). If you are interested in learning more about what we do, check out the Portland Walking Tours website or our sister companies Hometown Advantage and Run Brain Run.
Doing tours is a combination of thinking on your feet, advanced storytelling, and herding cats. We do all the training and get you up to speed on your missing knowledge of the city. Like all of us, once you're leading tours, you'll be amazed that you're getting paid for doing something so ridiculously fun. So, if you think you have the improv, storytelling and leadership skills needed, then read on and apply before the audition slots are filled...
POSITION: Resident Expert (aka Tour Guide) with high weekend and evening availability.
AUDITIONS: Afternoons on Saturday, July 30th or August 6th.
CALLBACKS/INTERVIEWS: Immediately thereafter.
REHEARSALS: Multiple evenings on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in August and September.
PAY: Once hired, starts at $11/hour + tips/gratuities. Tips will often triple that amount so it's not uncommon that most of us makes about $100/day for only two 2.5 hour tours. Also, some tours pay more than others, but you'll have to prove your mad skillz first.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Please send a single email with the following info to careers@portlandwalkingtours.com:
1. The name of the position you are applying for.
2. Full resume.
3. Recent headshot.
4. Paragraph of why you would be a great for this position.
5. Preference for an afternoon audition on Saturday, July 30th or August 6th.
If you do not supply these five (5) things, you will not be considered. If you are not available for the days of auditions, callbacks/interviews, and rehearsals, please do not apply.
If you do not have weekend and evening availability, please do not apply now but check back on Portland Walking Tours website in January for our Spring hiring.
NEXT STEPS:
A. If we see a good fit, we will then email you with information for your audition date/time, what you will have to do at the audition, and more details on rehearsals & eventual employment.
B. Callbacks/interviews, if appropriate.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Please do not call.
This position requires you to own a mobile phone and have desktop/laptop-based high-speed Internet access in your home and check your email at least once per day. If you do not have daily high-speed Internet access at home (and not your favorite coffee shop) and a cell phone, please do not apply.
This is a part-time and on-call position and not full-time. We are not interested in receiving information from outside agencies. Must be at least 21 years old and eligible for employment in U.S. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. Qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.

Actress, 30-ish (Portland)
Seeking an actress to work with me on a local indie film project about a female psychopath. A big focus is on the psychological make-up of the character. Not a blood/gore fest. Pay would be based upon any revenue the film may make, which there are no guarantees. Unfortunately not able to work with SAG actors due to budget constraints unless they can work outside the SAG guidelines. If interested, please send photos/resume (any skill level is welcome -- passion for the part and commitment to project is a bigger concern).

CASTING FOR LEON HOUSE MOVIE TRAILER (Portland)
I am now currently in Production of a short teaser film/trailer for a movie I finished writing and am now directing by the name of Leon House .
A Brief Synopsis : The film Leon House takes place in 1987 and 1969-1975.
A teenage outcast who longs to know his father and who's only friend is a homeless bum is knocked unconscious. He awakens in the year 1969, falls in love, dodges the draft, becomes a rock star and finds out who his father really is.
We are shooting this film with the Canon 5d so it will have a real film like look.
I am currently casting for one role:
Marnie- (35-45) Female, Medium to Heavy Build
If you fit this physical description which I've left brief and your interested email me a head shot and resume if you have one and I will email you a character bio and side to audition.
This role would only require one half shooting day and the possibility for more as we get more of a budget for this project.
Be aware that this is a unpaid gig. No one is getting paid there is barely enough budget to cover feeding cast and crew and paying for props and equipment. I am looking for someone that is looking for more experience and is more interested in helping create a great piece of art.
