Extras for short film (Vancouver)
My name is Allen and I am the director of a short film comedy/gore picture themed around mass hysteria and 2012. We are look for extras for two one-day shoots. The scenes we'll be shooting are group fight/chase scenes between the three main characters and two zombie-esque mobs. We have two scenes we will be shooting the weekends of Sept. 10th -11th and 17th-18th (one day out of each weekend).
The larger of the two will be predominantly just wielding weapons, chasing, and a bloody death or two. As it is primarily a mob scene we're looking for as many folks as would like to join in.The smaller scene is a choreographed fight involving weapons and grappling, so obviously more of an opportunity to do something on camera. This scene will also require more care on everyone's part as the last thing we want would be someone getting hurt, and there will be ample time to talk and walk through everything before we shoot. We'll probably only need one or two people to fill in the gaps we can't fill with friends.
We are amatuers on our first blush shooting a short together but we are excited and dedicated to the project. We come well-prepared to shoot the scenes and ask a few hours of your time for something fun. We'll be shooting both weekends in and around orchards off the 205 in Vancouver, but will be caravaning up from Portland on the shoot days. We can't offer pay but we can offer lunch. A little make-up, a healthy amount of dyed karo syrup, some running and screaming through the trees...what more can you ask from a little gurella filmmaking? The small town of Elroy, South Carolina is thrust into the evangelical spotlight when what seems to be the image of Jesus appears on a refrigerator in a trailer park . The discovery by Lou Ann Hightower, her husband Dwayne, and leaders, Betsy pretends to get messages from the appliance-based apparition, and the crowds multiply like loaves and fishes. Through the ordeal, the three undergo an evolution in their relationships with each other, and they are forced to come to grips with their lowly status in the caste system of the rural south. In a region where religion is as much a part of life as grits and cotton fields, God surely moves in mysterious ways.
