ASAP CASTING for the feature BLUE LIKE JAZZ
Hi all,
BLUE LIKE JAZZ is looking for a guy with a specific look and skill set.
We need someone around 6' to 6'3" (rather skinny) who can ride a Portland Tall Bike. You don't have to HAVE one, but you need actual experience riding one. You will be required to ride the bike IN A BEAR SUIT (and climb on and start out without the aid of a spotter or tall object to lean on). Please only respond if you know that this is something you can easily do.
Don't ya just love the film industry? "What'd you do today?", "Oh, I rode a tall bike in a bear suit (and got paid to do it)".
No lines, not a SAG role. Featured extra. But it pays.
Please put "Bear" in the subject line of your email.
You need to be available tomorrow (Friday) for a bear suit fitting, and the shoot is currently scheduled for Saturday, Jan 29.

Looking for doubles
BLUE LIKE JAZZ is looking for two guys to work as doubles for the filming this weekend (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) and next (Saturday, Sunday?). We need specific size guys.
#1 - 5' 9" 165 lbs
#2 - 5' 9" 160 lbs
So, both about the same.
These are PAYING positions. You need to be available this Friday for a fitting, as well as ALL the shoot days (1/22, 23, 24 - 1/29, 30)

Casting Date: January 29, 2011, 12:15-4pm
Muldoon
Age: 30-50
Muldoon is a sly orchid collector. He is intelligent, likable and calm, perhaps too intelligent for his own good. His obsession to find the final orchid for his collection overrides all else, no matter what the cost, even his own safety.
Lasson
Age: 30-45
Lasson is the leader of the occupants of the orchid house. He is very tall and lean with freakishly long arms (FX). Lasson is stoic, in control and self-assured of his power. He speaks in absolutes and makes Muldoon feel very nervous.
Mindla
Age: 30-60
Mindla does most of the speaking for the occupants of the house. While she appears welcoming, she has a hidden agenda for Muldoon. She is cryptic when speaking to him.
Francis/Francine
Age: 8-14
Francis is a precocious child. He/She is quiet but displays a confidence and power that seem beyond his/her years, like someone old trapped in a young body.
Dai Jin
Age: 30-50
Dai Jin is also an orchid collector. He is intelligent and cautious. He is Muldoon’s go to guy for rare orchids. He fears for the path Muldoon is about to go down but knows he can’t stop him from his obsession.
Extras: Basement Keeper & Man in Shackles
Age: 30-50
Both appear tired and worn out, as if they have had the life slowly sucked out of them. They feel like they have lost their identity.
Additional info:
This film is my senior thesis piece for film school. I wrote it and am directing it but during production Scotty Bailey will be taking over most of the Directing duties as I will be the DP. The film will play at the Hollywood Theater in June and the showing is free. We will also be submitting it to film festivals.
The film will be in shot in high definition and anyone who needs the footage for their reel just let me know. We are on a micro budget and are unable to pay cast or crew. That said this is a great experience for anyone looking for exposure or practice. Finally, I’ve worked closely with Scotty and most of the crew before and I can promise this will be a fun film to make.
