I am casting for Alan Ayckbourn's "Relatively Speaking," a farce of epic proportions, for Portland Civic Theatre Guild. This is paid work. I'll be directing.

New Web-Series holding auditions
Ladies and Gents- Here are the breakdowns for Producer/Writer the fantastic Mr. Nate Carlson Enigma - The Series and audition details.

DANIELLE "DANNY" HAYS-30’s-CHAS's live-in roommate. District Attorney for the city. Is openly gay. She barely has enough money to scrape by (as is the case with everyone in the city). She quickly resorts to using her temper, especially professionally.
HUGH "FRITZ" FRITZHUGH-30-CHAS's best friend. He's a bartender. Combination of Jack Black's persona crossed with Tony Stark (Avengers) wit. Dry humored but really intelligent. The annoying best friend who you love to have but don't want around for too long.
TERRANCE GRISHAM-POLICE CHIEF-50’s-By the book most of the time but when pushed he is willing to stray from the norm.
GREG RIPLEY-CHAS’ BEST FRIEND on the Police Force-30’s-Tough as nails, the meaner version on Han Solo
ALICIA REED-30’s-ALICIA plays CHAS's girlfriend. She is a pivotal point of his life. She is a quick thinker, fast on her feet and is his complete counterpart. Can analyze any situation and find a good solution for any argument she gets in. She is able to survey her surroundings and escape safely. Easy to talk to, warm, but also can be very firm with people when needed.
This pilot will be directed by Kenneth Luba!

A crush can make anyone feel young again – even a widower named Ralph. On an ordinary day in a routine life, Ralph decides to take a different path on his daily walk –one that leads him to an unexpected second chance at love. Relying on a renewed boyish charm, Ralph attempts to woo the elegant, but distant, Carol. Defying Carol’s reticence—and his lonely sister’s jealousy—Ralph embarks on the trip of a lifetime, and regains a happiness that seemed all but lost. The Last Romance is a heart-warming comedy about the transformative power of love.
All roles available:
1.Ralph Bellini—70-80 years old, but vigorous, exuberant, and full of life. Still looking for his “last romance”. Won’t take “no” for an answer. Continues to mesmerize about his youthful dream of becoming an opera singer
2.Carol Reynolds—60-70’s. Attractive, proper, well-dressed. Spent 45 years as an Executive Secretary. At first put off by Ralph’s unrestrained boldness, but eventually succumbs to his charms.
3.Rose Tagliatelle—60-70’s. Ralph’s caring, but overprotective, sister. Sharp-tongued and skeptical of his new-found relationship. Still dealing with unresolved hurt from her own failed marriage.
4.The Young Man—Early 20’s. Ralph’s youthful alter ego with a strong tenor voice. Singing role.
NOTE: Auditions will be cold readings from the scripts. However, headshots, resumes, and/or monologues are welcome, but not required. (If you have a prepared monologue, you will be given the opportunity to share it as an additional basis for consideration.) All are welcome and no experience is necessary.
We also are recruiting crew positions (Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Lights & Sound Operators, Costumers, Props, Set Builders, Set Painters) for this production. If interested in these areas, please attend the auditions.
Sandy Actors Theatre provides limited stipends to all cast and crew to cover expenses for travel, etc.

A small group of independent film makers are filming a short production for the Filmed by Bike film festival, to be submitted for the January 2013 cut off. We need a number of actors for this production.
Jonathan - male - age 20-30 (lead role) - actor must have strong control over facial features to express intense emotion, involved in a deep relationship that takes an unexpected turn
Mike - male - age 20-30 (support role) - character is a best friend to the main character, relatively physically fit, and loves to party
Unnamed - female - age 16-25 - younger looking girl, represents innocence, non-speaking role that has significance to plot
Amy - female - age 20-30 - Jonathan's girlfriend, must be able to accurately portray emotions of shock, fear, and worry
Unnamed - male - age 30 - 40 - non-speaking role
Friend - female - age 20 - 30 - brief speaking role of a friend approaching Jonathan at a party
Extras - we're looking for about 20 extras for a party scene
Auditions are next Saturday10/27/12 - if you are not available on this day, please do not reply. This video shoot will be held at the Board of Trade Building in downtown, Portland, OR
Video Shoot is scheduled for Friday 26th from 2pm to 4:30pm.

FrightTown is still looking for a few good monsters! (Portland)
We need some new blood! If dressing up as a clown, demon or zombie and getting thousands of strangers to pee their pants sounds like a good time to you, it's not to late to volunteer to be a monster at FrightTown this season. We provide the costumes, the makeup and the settings - you provide the energy. It's an awesome way to celebrate Halloween with dozens of like-minded spooks!
No acting experience is required - we can show you what to do. There's no commitment, but with only 12 performances left you'll want to jump in asap. Just go to frighttown.com, click on BE A MONSTER and take it from there. You can start making grown men scream as early as tomorrow. We do ask that you be 18 or older, though.
FrightTown is beneath the Coliseum at the Rose Quarter, right off the MAX. Performances start at 7pm, and makeup starts as early as 4. Volunteers that devote enough time get free FrightTown passes for friends and family, cast tees and perhaps even an invite to our end-of-the-season cast party. We also serve dinner prior to each performance. It's a good time.

Volunteers Needed to Transcribe Documentary Interviews (Old Town)Local non-profit NW Documentary seeks volunteers to transcribe interviews for Les Voyageurs Sans Trace, a feature-length documentary currently in production. The film tells the story of three young French people, who, in 1938, were the first to take kayaks down the Green and Colorado rivers. And amazingly enough, they filmed their 900-mile journey in color film. Les Voyageurs Sans Trace will pair the 1938 footage with new footage of the rivers, a new trio of kayakers, and more. Our crew recently returned from a month of production in Wyoming, Utah, and Arizona -- and they brought back 5 TB of video, packed with interviews that need to be carefully transcribed at our office in downtown Portland. This is an un-paid opportunity for volunteers to help with the making of an exciting documentary production.
