Let's get a chat going, like the old days. Are you currently pursuing acting full time, or do you have a day job? In Portland, Oregon, with film really picking up, and lots of theater auditions right around the corner, are you able to support yourself on acting alone, or do you have to work a day job to pay the bills? Feel free to share your stories, thoughts, and comments in the chat box below.
This post will continue to be updated as new audition notices are discovered, so please check back throughout the day.
If you are a fan of the blog, please share this with actor friends. If you have any feedback for me on how to improve my blog, share this with me so that I may work on improving the blog.
Thanks.
Portland Playhouse Acting Apprentice Company Auditions
Audition on April 14th for the Portland Playhouse Apprentice Company!
WORK WITH US
Portland Playhouse provides emerging artists with professional experience and training. Apprentices work 20 hours/week in various production areas: marketing, development, literary, casting, and education. Apprentices learn all aspects of running a theatre by working closely with core company members. The Apprenticeship begins in mid-August and runs through the end of May. The program is free and has no stipend.
CREATE WITH US
Apprentices devote 20 hours/week to their specific craft: acting, design, directing, and stage management. Acting work includes Movement (Suzuki & Viewpoints), Voice, Scene Study, Community Engagement, and Devising for Ensembles. Designers, a director and stage manager focus on a single year-long mentorship. Apprentices benefit from the small-group, select nature of the program, working closely with teachers and fellow ensemble members to maximize their year of training. In addition to the conservatory-style training, Apprentices learn through experience; working side-by-side with professional artists in various aspects of production and performance.
