Casting Brief (male) Part in Film

Local film is seeking a male age 20 - 40 to appear in a short nonspeaking part. There is very little acting required for this role--We are casting based on physical presence rather than acting ability.

We are looking for a thin man with an intense quality in his eyes, face and body. Men with an interesting look are encouraged. Acting experience is not required and we are also open to men involved in dance, performance art, modeling, and mime artists.

This is one day of paid work in a Non-Union film.

Casting Lead Male Role

NW FILM CENTER PROFESSIONAL-STYLE FILM EXPERIENCE!: SHORT TO BE SHOT ON 16MM FILM

HEART is a 20 minute NARRATIVE short film, featuring EXPERIMENTAL elements.

The story is about Jonas and Kevin Kierkowzki's struggle with their unique neuroses. Each of these brothers has chosen to deal with their involvement with the death of their younger brother in a different and troubling way. The film also addresses their shared boyfriend and this complex relationship.

The project will be directed by the talented team of Stephanie Hough and Will Taylor Turner. This will be their 7th short film together, and it will be the THESIS PROJECT of Hough's certificate program in film at the NORTHWEST FILM CENTER.

Lead Role
JONAS KIERKOWZKI: 27 year old male, average build. Jonas suffers from OCD-like neurosis that expresses itself in his obsession with creating minimalist environments in every facet of his life. The strict way in which he lives serves as a means to quell the guilt he feels as a result of witnessing his brother's childhood death. This is a very demanding role--subtle dialog requires that the actor will need to express many of these emotions internally and not be able to rely on situations or dialog to get across these ideas. Film experience required.

This is a "no-budget" film production, so NO monetary compensation can be offered.

Actors will be wonderfully fed, get the experience of a small, organized shoot and have the opportunity to use this film on their reel.

Production will occur in Spring 2012. There will be preparation time required for the actors with some unconventional rehearsing techniques.

Please be prepared to bring a resume with photo, and monologue to perform. Auditions will be
videotaped. They will be held at:

Location: NW Film Center 934 SW Salmon St, Portland, OR
Dates: TBA

Vocal Director Needed

Lincoln High School will be producing Stephen Sondheim's "Company" this spring and we have recently found ourselves in need of a vocal director. We had hoped to start the auditions next week but will need to move this to the beginning of March. The rehearsals will start immeaditately afterward. We would prefer to have someone who can not only be the vocal director and teach all the vocal parts, but also play keyboard in the pit for the show. This is flexible. The show performs the last weekend of April and first weekend of May. This is a paid job. Thanks.

Comedy Short - talent needed

Hi there, I'm a college student working on my degree in digital media and film and am putting together a short comedy film I plan on using as part of my work in this degree. The piece follows two people standing at a bus stop waiting for the bus. One is Delilah, a girl in her early twenties who has a very conservative, introverted nature about herself and Todd (also early twenties), who is, more or less, of the "gangsta'" variety and the piece chronicles how these two are able to communicate with each other. Very comedic and a bantering style piece. No experience required.
