Tired of working for no pay? As someone who considers themselves to be a, "Serious and qualified" actor, I have noticed that much of the work I have booked outside of an agency is either nonpaying or offers compensation that isn't monetary, like food, credit, and a copy of the footage for a reel. This is something typical of our industry, and I know that this happens even in the bigger cities, like LA and New York. In my experience, I have found that theater work tends to at least offer a small stipend, which is usually only enough to pay for gas to and from rehearsals every night. At least it's something, though, right? I'd love to get a discussion going in the chat box below! Share your experiences, thoughts, and feedback about the challenges of working for no pay.

Actors desired for first read of new play
I want to have a new play of mine read in my living room (just for me.)
I know some people who I can ask but can’t think of anyone to play:
Hector- can be a thug… with a heart of gold?
Eileen- doesn’t think much of herself.
Time TBD.
Let me know if you’re up for the ridiculous and humiliating (only for the playwright) first read where nothing comes out exactly how you meant it to and the layering begins.

Actor and Actress need for small shoot
Needs an Actor and an Actress for a short dialog scene for my directing class.
We are filming in Hillsboro OR this Friday the 18th. Time is not decided yet.
they both need to be or look to be in there late 30's to early 40's.
This is a nonpaying gig but food will be provided.
The roles:
Sara - tall blond lawyer type. Very professional looking.
Eddy - balding and slightly geeky. Looking for someone a little lanky.

Talent Needed for Highschool Shoot
We are looking for talent for our next stock footage shoot. The idea of the shoot is "high school" kids in a hallway setting - talking, walking, laughing, being natural.
For talent we want:
Male and Female
All ethnicities
Ages range from 15-20, now if you do not fall into that age group but look like you do that works too!
No video experience required, as long as you are comfortable in front of the camera and willing to smile!
We do not have a set date yet, but are looking to shoot around the week of February 28th.
