Not much on the audition front today, but check out what there is to offer and then let's continue this exciting discussion to focus in on how to pick the right auditions.
I think the feedback that has already been shared is incredibly valuable, and I encourage you to continue to discuss your process, the questions you ask prior to auditioning, and what red flags force you to step out of a project during the audition stage. With the recent discussions on PDX Backstage, numerous people questioned what seemed to be a legitimate audition notice because of what seemed to be a small amount of pay for a large amount of exposure. This may have discouraged people from submitting for a paying role because they began to question the feedback of others.
It is important to find a process that works for you, and stick with it. It is also okay to question things that don't seem right, prior to going through with the audition.
What do you look for when selecting work you are interested in auditioning for. What do you focus in on when filtering auditions for work? Do you look for monetary compensation, and weigh out how much work for how much money? Do you ask yourself whether auditioning for the experience and networking would be great in itself? What questions do you ask yourself before submitting yourself for auditions?
I have also read in the chat box that some have experienced inappropriate behavior and actions at auditions. What do you look for in an audition notice to avoid running into a situation like this?
Let's chat throughout the week about what work needs to be done before we even submit ourselves for auditions. What have your experiences been like, and what questions do you always ask yourself?
If you are a fan of the blog, please share this with actor friends. If you have any feedback for me on how to improve my blog, share this with me so that I may work on improving the blog.
Thanks.

Last Minute Call for extras and crew
I had to postpone last time, but this time we're on and it's going to be a blast.
They're Here!
Corny Sci-Fi short film, poking fun at all kinds of folks.
This Sunday, the 10th, call time Noon.
We have a very nice location. A friend of mine, Mona, has offered her loft a few blocks from me for our use. She's out of town, but I have her keys and such. We'll be in the Marshall-Wells Loft Condos on NW Lovejoy between 14th and 15th.
Crew call is 11am. I'll be in the lobby or thereabouts...
Actors call is Noon. Anyone has extra folks they wish to bring along for either in front or behind the camera, let me know. I still need a few extras. I'd like to have one African-American male (or female... may be even funnier that way) for the first scene to be shot. We're skewering a well known hate group in that one and I want it over the top (don't worry, I already have someone to wear the tutu).
Email me privately. For anyone out or town, I can't pay for your gas or anything. I'm broke enough as it is right now. Everyone else, I would strongly encourage taking public transit in. Yes, you do have to pay for parking on Sundays now. You can ride the Streetcar all the way around and back down Lovejoy and get off across from the Safeway (13th and Lovejoy) then walk back. It's the building with the Quizno's at street level. Entrance is on the Lovejoy side of the building.
