RENT follows a year in the lives of seven friends living the disappearing Bohemian lifestyle in New York's East Village. AIDS and both its physical and emotional complications pervade the lives of Roger, Mimi, Tom, and Angel; Maureen deals with her chronic infidelity through performance art; her partner, Joanne, wonders if their relationship is worth the trouble; Benjamin has sold out his Bohemian ideals in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends; and Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general, always behind the camera recording the events but never playing a part.

Auditions for short film this weekend

Hello, my name is Andrea and I am a media/communications student at UW

Bothell. I'm looking for actors/actresses for a short film project.
I'm holding auditions this Saturday (Oct. 23rd) at UW Bothell, but
I'll be filming in other locations. You must provide your own
transportation to the auditions, but I would be willing to carpool for
filming locations. Open auditions will be held from 11am-2pm and
4pm-7pm. If you can't make these times, please e-mail me with a time
that is convenient for you. But it MUST be on Saturday.

I'm planning to have auditions this Saturday and immediately start
filming on Sunday. More filming next weekend.

Basic Story: A girl with anorexia. She sees anorexia as a lifestyle
choice, not a disease. To deal with the stress, she has created a
stronger, more beautiful alter-ego. As her physical body
deteriorates, this alter-ego gains a more physical presence in this
world. Gradually, the alter-ego completely takes over.

Roles:
Ana - main character. In her twenties. Slender body or physically
fit. One or two semi-nude scenes. Shy, withdrawn, sometimes self-
loathing and sometimes confident.

Belle - secondary character. In her twenties. Slender body.
Mysterious, powerful, beautiful, perhaps a little menacing. Mostly
outdoor scenes.

"Sisters and Brothers" - representative characters of the online pro-
anorexia community that Ana belongs to. I'm looking for about five
people (of different body types), and men are welcome to audition for
these roles. Each person is guaranteed one line. One major group
scene. At least two people will be guaranteed one other scene.

"Friends" - Two people, one of them a girl. One fight scene.

Models, dancers, and actors alike are welcome to audition. Please
note that you don't have to be "skinny" in order to audition. Only
Belle and Ana require a specific body type. The "Sisters and
Brothers" need a variety of body types and genders. The material is
controversial, but you will be treated with only the utmost respect
and understanding on my set.

Please contact me by writing to my e-mail, 1rocinante@gmail.com.
Please send at least one recent photo of yourself (casual photos
okay), an approximate time slot, and the best way to contact you.
Experienced and new actors welcome. I will e-mail you with more
details about the audition, locations, etc.

Please note that there is no pay for this project, except for free
food, film credit, and DVD copies.

Thank you for reading my post! I look forward to hearing from you
soon!
