Creative Studio Seeks Actors to Participate in Transmedia Production
KS12
Creative Studio is looking for actors (men and women ages 18+) to
perform dramatic monologues as a part of its current project Early Stage
– a video essay about the Portland creative and technology ecosystem.
An ongoing blog about the project can be found here:

Excerpts
of the monologues will be incorporated into the final video essay and
may also be published as separate stand-alone pieces. Both the final
video essay and the stand-alone pieces will be made freely available
online under creative commons.
Actors invited to audition will be
provided a monologue (approximately 1-3 minutes long) to learn in
advance and performed at the audition.
October 2, 2012 deadline for submissions
October 3, 2012 notification of invitation to audition
Actors should not apply to audition unless they have good availability for the following schedule:
October 6, 2012 auditions & callbacks
October 7 & 8, 2012 production
This is a non-union job with a flat fee of $100 for participating actors.
Each actor needs to be available for a 5-hour shoot during the production period.
Auditions and production will take place in Portland, Oregon.
There will be an additional 15% agency fee on top of the flat fee provided to actors represented by agencies.

casual, "did you know..." demeanor - a photographer casually telling

we're filming for a kickstarter. Super informal auditions will be held
Tuesday night (that's like tomorrow).
This will be an small action scene where the girl saves the boy.

The team’s only female agent, smartest too & hasn’t gotten over breaking up with the love of her life.
At least shoulder length hair, preferably red or willing to color. We may have a wig but prefer natural hair.
Age: Early 20s to Late 20s
Average
to tall in height with a small to average build. Wardrobe has already
been bought. The top is listed a medium but it runs small. Pants was a
size 4. We can replace the pants but not the top.
How much does
it pay? Nothing but lunch and something to add to your reel. If we have a
successful kick starter we can film the entire short and then pay the
actors for their work in that.

We will be filming a Concept Trailer over a span of 2(3) days for a feature film by first time Writer and Director, Kristi Sanchez, "A Fool's Paradise" to be filmed in the greater Portland, Oregon area.
A fool's Paradise (Synopsis)
-Melody, a young Hollywood superstar, has deceived everyone by pretending to be the perfect role model, but when she ends up pregnant with no idea who the father is, her career is in jeopardy of being destroyed. Before the press finds out about her secret bad-girl lifestyle, her agent devises a plan to hide her and replace her with Kate, an off-the-street look-alike desperate to escape her sordid past. Melody's jealousy takes over when Kate is cast in her dream film and starts dating her gorgeous co-star. Lives are changed forever when a parent's greed and a rebellious young actress's jealousy intertwine with another girl's only chance at a better life. We are making a short melodrama-action parody & looking to film a single scene to put on Kickstarter. This is very low budget mini-short. Looking for actresses for a comedy web series!
Looking for female actresses in the Vancouver, WA / PDX area for a web series pilot episode. This pilot episode is to be produced by a Los Angeles based director and to be marketed towards funding for an entire series. New haunted house needs actors (Delta Park)
Studio 13 is looking for volunteer cast members for its inaugural production "Four Horsemen Haunted Attractions," a full scale, fully themed, fully detailed haunted walk through to scare and thrill Portland residents this year. All we need is you to come scare our guests. We are in need of a cast of a 35-50 per night, so there are plenty of openings. Can't work every night? No problem! We are happy to work around whatever schedule you may have. No experience as a monster? No problem! We fully train our monsters to ensure a safe and fun atmosphere. Let our experienced monster herders bring out the zombie, creature or monster in you.
We are looking for cast members who are:
-at least 16 years of age
-are able to act for a 4-6 hour shift, with breaks,
-are eager to scare.
We currently do not have any paid positions, but volunteers are awarded with prizes, free tickets, a wrap party and other goodies. Actress wanted - Fall film production
I am a digital media major working on a term film project that I plan on trying to complete shooting over the month of October and am looking to fill a female character's role in the piece. The character is a young very boisterous writer, the type of person who says what's on her mind but at the same time does her best to bring up the spirits of others. A great character for someone interested in playing an energized and yet playful character. Those interested I will send some sides from the script along with a more in depth description of the overall film. I am beginning production at the end of September and hope to have this role filled before the end of the month.

Still casting clean/Christian movies (Vancouver, WA/Portland, OR)
I am still accepting submissions for all available roles. (Will continue to repost this until October 15th which is last scheduled auditions.) Both of these full-length movies contain many of the same characters. I am looking to produce them sometime in the next year. Possibly start shooting in February. The goal is to shoot a couple scenes in the next couple months for promo to get financing using Kickstarter so these will be paid gigs.
Available roles are:
Males:
-James (the male lead). He must be Caucasian and preferably mid-30's. The character struggles with his past deeds and how to rectify what he has done. He becomes a Christian partway through.
-Craig - at least part Caucasian in his mid 30's to early 40's to play a molester (at least in his past).
-Daniel - a Caucasian male, in his 30's, to play an assistant pastor.
-Danny - of any race in his 30's to play the short-term boyfriend of lead female.
-Ben - of any race in his early to mid 20's. Father of a seriously ill boy.
Females:
-Ruth (long time girlfriend of James) must be Caucasian and preferably early to mid-30's to play a bitter, angry woman whose boyfriend molests their teen daughter. Somewhat of a Christian.
-Anna - of any race in her late 20's to mid 30's to play a small business owner, Christian, friend of the lead female.
-Jenna- of any race in her mid 20's to play a character who is strongly against abortion.
-Kara - of any race in her mid 20's. Mother of a seriously ill boy.
-Eva - of any race in her late teens/early 20's, irresponsible/overwhelmed mother of sick child.
Children:
-Benjamin - of any race, a boy around the age of 2 to play ill boy.
-Ian - of any race, a sick boy around 1 years old.
-any kids from the age of 3 months to 5 years for daycare scenes.
-any kids from 6 to 18 years for church scenes.

Extras wanted! Established NW advertising agency, in business for over 25 years, is seeking individuals to appear in a video and still photography on behalf of our client, a national non-profit. The video/photo shoots will be taking place this coming Monday, September 24th, beginning at 10am in the Portland area. You must be available from 10am-4pm.

Dance Naked Productions is looking for a sound designer/DJ.
Our new show, Inviting Desire: The Dawn of Sex is an ensemble piece of theater created around the topic of women’s sexuality, and more specifically, types and styles of relationships.
As a company, we devise the show from survey responses, interviews, and our own fertile imaginations. We would very much like to work with a sound designer that is interested in being a part of the creation process. Ideally, we would like to find someone (preferably a woman) who is interested in bringing her own ideas to the table, who has a wide variety of music to chose from, and who has a facility with technology (ie if we needed you to create a mash-up of different songs, you have the know-how to do that).
The ideal candidate is open-minded and comfortable talking about issues of a sexual nature. Available to come and experiment during the rehearsal process, improvising on the fly, creating mini-dance sets. We like using music as prompt for movement, and would welcome your imput in that capacity. We are also writing a number of original songs, and someone who can assist with setting those to music would be a total bonus.
The show is currently in development, and we’d like to add in a sound designer as soon as possible. We rehearse Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. In a perfect world, you join us for at least one rehearsal a week until we get into tech, closer to opening (Nov. 9th).
The stipend for this position is $300.

The Oregon Theatre Educators' Association, a group of primarily public Junior & Senior High School teachers, is having its annual conference on Friday, October 12 in Portland.
Our Conference focus this year is specific to the NEW K-12+ National & State Standards being written to guide (& legitimize) the educational system for Theatre in public schools (this is a GOOD thing!).
A major element in that focus is the importance of relating what we do as educators to the real world of Theatre as well as what are considered "real world" skills & applications - we know we are doing it on many levels, however, we would very much like to have a panel discussion about how we can all help one another in OUR world do so even more effectively.
